Our first Disney run was this past February 2015, and we were in no way properly prepared so here is what to expect.  RunDisney Expo:   The expo was a little overwhelming but definitely worth it. There is a lot to look at and free items, so take your time! We were too excited and wanted to get into the parks as soon as we could, but my next race we will be there longer. They had everything from a runners pouch for your phone, keys, etc.to the RunDisney signature shoes!   Before the Expo you go to pick up your race bib , t shirt, and a small bag of goodies. BE WARNED! If you are going with a male, the t shirts may be a not so manly color, and he might be upset. But you'll understand because he is doing a princess themed race with you.    Morning of the race: STRETCH! Cepheid Variables in the Universe

Cepheid variable stars are very much like our own star, the sun, except these stars are 500-30,000 times as luminous as our own. Currently, there are around 1,400 known Cepheid variable stars, with 400 of these residing in our Milky Way galaxy and the remainder found in our two neighbor galaxies, the large and small Magellanic Clouds. Having regular pulsations of their radii, these stars change in brightness with a period of one to one hundred days. In this general group called Cepheid stars there exists two distinct types called Type 1 and Type 2. It was discovered by Henrietta Leavitt that this special variety of stars has a specific relationship between their luminosities and periods. Using this discovery, Harlow Shapley used Cepheid variable stars to find our place in the galaxy, and further diminished our solar system’s place in the universe. Each time I open a pack, I want to write a little bit about each card to make sure that I think about each one individually as it relates to prismatic. When I'm done writing, I am going to add the non-rare or foil cards to my "Phil Plus Syd" prismatic deck.
