Phil Writes About Magic: Cube Additions 01/19/2017
I added four cards to my cube today and wanted to talk a little about each one of them. A link to my cube can be found here: Cube. I am still working on getting it up to a 360 cube.
Flickerwisp: One generic and two white for a 3/1 flying elemental that flickers anther target permanent. This creature is incredible for cube. It allows you to reuse enter the battlefield abilities again. I am also always happy getting a 3/1 flying attacker out of the deal.
Dungeon Geists: Two generic and two blue for a 3/3 flying that taps an opponent's creature until it leaves the battlefield. This is another great cube card. It can lock down one of your opponent's more threatening creatures while still being a decent attacker. This creature could also be used with Flickerwisp to tap down two creatures down a different creature if you change your mind.
Ponder: One blue for a sorcery that allows you to look at the top three cards of your library and put hem back in any order, you may shuffle your library, draw a card. Being able to control what you draw is always great. I am always happy to get cards like this in any of my blue decks.
Isochron Scepter: Two generic for an artifact allows you to exile an instant that costs two or less from your hand and cast it for paying two generic and tapping the card. Burn and control decks can utilize this card the best, in my opinion. Being able to reuse a card over and over can generate a lot advantage over the course of a game. Reusable removal or draw spells, like Ponder, can really put you ahead.
Thank you,
Philip
