MTG Pack: Dragons of Tarkir #6
Each time I open a pack, I want to write a little bit about each card to make sure that I think about each one individually as it relates to prismatic. When I'm done writing, I am going to add the non-rare or foil cards to my "Phil Plus Syd" prismatic deck. If you don't know what prismatic is or want to see what the decklist currently is, here is the link: By Card Type and By Card Color!
Lightwalker
One white and one generic for a 2/1 white human warrior that has flying as long as it has a +1/+1 counter on it. For the most part, this creature will remain a 2/1 so I'm not sure how great a two casting 2/1 is in prismatic.
Dutiful Attendant
I wrote about it here: Dragons of Tarkir #5
Volcanic Rush
One red and four generic for a red instant that gives attacking creatures +2/+0 and gain trample until the end of turn. This card is going to be great as a finisher. This is the type of card I would hold a counter spell for. I'd be happy to draw this every game.
Updraft Elemental
I wrote about it here: Dragons of Tarkir #1
Atarka Beasterbreaker
I wrote about it here: Dragons of Tarkir #5
Tormenting Voice
One red and one generic for a red sorcery. As an additional cost, discard a card. Then, draw two cards. I like this card for when you have a bunch of lands you don't need clogging up your hand. It could also be a last ditch effort to find a kill spell or something. Being a sorcery, it loses some effectiveness.
Keeper of the Lens
I wrote about it here: Dragons of Tarkir #2
Reckless Imp
I wrote about it here: Dragons of Tarkir #2
Ancient Carp
I wrote about it here: Dragons of Tarkir #3
Enduring Victory
One white and four generic for a white instant. Destroy target attacking or blocking creature, then Bolster one. This is another card that will take care of that pesky creature attacking you. The extra bonus of the Bolster helps give it more value even. Every card that has something like Bolster also helps cards like Lightwalker, too.
Echoes of the Kin Tree
One white and one generic for a white enchantment. One white and two generic for Bolster one. This card is good for using that extra mana at the end of your opponent's turn. Making your creatures better is always better. I would be happy to draw this card from time to time.
Circle of Elders
Two green and two generic for a 2/4 green human shaman with vigilance and Formidable. Formidable is tap and add three generic to your mana pool. If I had enough power to activate Formidable, I don't think there would be a need to use the extra mana acceleration. I am not the hugest fan of this card.
Atarka Monument
Three generic for an artfact that can be tapped to add a red or green to your mana pool. For one red, one green, and four generic. it turns into a 4/4 dragon with flying until the end of turn. I'm still not sure how I think about the monuments. I think they'll be useful if you're missing one of the colors, I guess.
Thank you,
Philip
